Tournament Details

CFC Membership Required

Players can pay the annual CFC membership on-site. ($32 / Junior and $ 48 / Adult)

Playing Up:

Top: extra $30 | U2000: extra $20
Play-up is allowed only for players within 100 rating points of the section’s minimum rating. For example, a player in the Under 1600 section wanting to play up in the Under 2000 section must have a rating no lower than 1500

$120 Late (between Oct 23 and Oct 26)

Free for GM/WGM and IM/WIM if registered before Oct 23; full fee after
$70 Players rated CFC 2000-2199 if registered & paid before Oct 23; full fee after
$50 Players rated CFC 2200 and above if registered & paid before Oct 23; full fee after
20% discount for Club Members
20% discount for Families with two participants
30% discount for Families with three or more participants

Forfeit

Players who do not arrive within 30 minutes of the round start time will be forfeited

All sections will be CFC and FIDE rated

Prize Fund: $2,250 based on 90 entries!

Predictions based on 90 paid entries:
TOP section: $700 – $400 – $200
Under 2000 section: $200 – $125
Under 1600 section: $200 – $125
Seniors (50+): $100 – $50
Females: $100 – $50

Club Members 1st Place:

Free entry to the next tournament
Members will not get this prize if already won other bigger prize(s) in the tournament;
If the prize was not rewarded, it will go to the second placed member, and so on.

Diplomas and medals for the first three places in each section.
All cash prizes are in Canadian dollars.
